I’m Under Pressure From PDP, APC

I’m Under Pressure From PDP, APC to Dump LP – Opeyemi Bamidele

Labour Party governorship candidate in June 21 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, Michael Bamidele, has said that he is under pressure from both the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to leave his party and join either of the two parties.
Bamidele, a member of the House of Representatives is representing Ekiti Central 1 at the National Assembly and came third in the election which the candidate of the PDP, Mr. Ayo Fayose, won.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday at his Iyin Ekiti country home, Bamidele said his party has also set up an 11-man committee to negotiate with any political party making overtures to the party for a working relationship.
Bamidele defected to the LP last year September following irreconcilable differences with Governor Kayode Fayemi and leaders of the APC.
Speaking on the planned defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State to the PDP from LP, Bamidele said the governor still remains a member of the party adding that Mimiko’s defection would in no way affect the party in Ekiti or at the national level.
“As a patriot and statesman, I am ready to work with whoever that is elected in the overriding interest of the people,” he said while confirming that Fayose has indicated interest to work with him and his party. Bamidele said he would vie for political position in 2015, but he refused to disclose what political office he would be vying for and on which platform.
