FAYOSE to Journalist: You have freedom of press
Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday asked journalists
practicing in the state to
criticize his government without fear or
favour.
He spoke in Ado-Ekiti through his Special Assistant on Information,
Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, on the election day of new officers of the State
Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists. The governor, however, asked
that his government be criticized “constructively” rather than
“destructively,” adding that he was aware of the enormous roles played
across the world by journalists and would not do anything to undermine
such roles.
He promised that his government would provide the enabling
environment for journalism and journalists to thrive in the state
despite the current challenges facing the new administration.
