THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has released the list
of its successful candidates in the last Saturday primary election of
the party conducted across the state.
A statement in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, by the Secretary of the party in the state, Dr Tope Aluko, said “in most of the local government areas, some of the aspirants settled for consensus among themselves while in others they went for the election without any rancour at the end of the counting.”
In a related development, the state governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has advised the candidates “to display full loyalty to the leadership of the party,” stressing that “they should see themselves as being fortunate to have emerged victorious among other aspirants. ”
The governor told the candidates to see their election as a call to serve the people of Ekiti State and to place interest of Ekiti State above their personal interests.
Assuring of total victory for the PDP in both the state and the National Assembly elections in 2015, Fayose advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to dissipate energy as it cannot win anywhere.
The name of the 26 candidates were: Dr Samuel Omotoso, Oye constituency I; Olatunji Akinyele, Oye Constituency II; Odunayo Talabi, Ado Ekiti Constituency I; Fasanmi Temitope, Ado Constituency II; Dele Fajemilehin, Gbonyin Local Government; Ijero Constituency will have Akinleye Ekundayo as the PDP candidate.
In Ekiti South West I, PDP will field Olawale Onigiobi and in Ekiti South West II, Adedeji Michael Adeniyi.
The party has Olamiposi Omodara and Aladeyelu Sanya as its candidates for Irepodun/Ifelodun constituencies I and II respectively.
Segun Adewumi won in Ekiti West Constituency I; Animashahun Shina was voted as the party’s candidate in Oye Constituency II; Ikole Constituency I has Chief Gboyega Aribisogane; Princess Titilayo Owolabi won in Ikole Constituency II; Ikere Constituency I elected Mr Wale Ayeni while Akinniyi Sunday became the candidate in Ikere Constituency II.
In Moba Constituency I, Pastor Kola Oluwawole emerged as the PDP candidate; while Ade Anifowose emerged as the candidate in Moba Constituency II.
Also in Ido/Osi Constituency I, Olayode Jacob Omotoso was elected while Samuel Abiola emerged in Ido/Osi Constituency II; Emure Constituency has Olanrewaju Olayanju while Efon has Afolabi Akanni.
In Ise/Orun constituency, Alagbada Adeniran Ebenezer won the PDP ticket. Chief Mrs Dada Cecelia is the candidate in Ilejemeje while Fajana Ojo-Ade was elected in Ekiti East Constituency I and Pelemo Dare in Ekiti East constituency II.
