The Peoples Democratic Party has boasted that with the fall of Ekiti State from the grip of the All Progressives Congress, the whole of South-West will soon be under its control.

The National Auditor of the party,Alhaji Adewole Adeyanju, who spoke with journalists in Abuja on Monday on behalf of the party, said that with the election of the candidate of the party, Mr. Ayodele Fayose as the governor in the state, the game was up for the APC in the South-West in particular and other parts of the country in general.

Adeyanju said, “With the Ekiti State governorship election won by the PDP, the people have spoken through the ballot box and it is a red signal to the APC that the game is up for them.

“The race to 2015 has just begun with our victory in Ekiti. The victory train is now moving to Osun State and come August 9 when the governorship election will hold in the state, our victory is certain because our people have rejected the APC totally.

“We are on the field campaigning for our Party, the people of the South-West have tasted both the APC and PDP and by now they know which party is better.

“PDP is a tested, reliable and trusted political party. You can see the real transformation and developments going on at the PDP controlled states and at the federal level.

“We want our people in the South-West too to be partaker in reaping the dividends of democracy in the county. PDP is the only one that is not being controlled or centred on any individual or group as being done in the APC.”

He commend the people of Ekiti State for voting massively for the PDP in the election and assured the people there that the situation in the state would soon turn around as soon as Fayose assumed office, adding that “we are happy that Ekiti people know their governor elect as an action man,he will never let them down, all he needs is their total support which I know they will give him.”

Adeyanju, who commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the smooth conduct of the Ekiti State governorship election, saying the election could be adjudged the best election ever conducted in the country as all the contestants accepted its outcome without any protest.
