EKITI WANS REPLACEMENT OF VACANT MINISTERIAL SLOT

Chairman of the foremost Ekiti socio-political group, E-Eleven, Femi Ajiniran, has demanded the immediate replacement of the vacant ministerial position for Ekiti.

The group expressed concern that months after the state representative and former Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, resigned his appointment, no replacement has been made.

He expressed this position in a statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti.

“We expect that almost immediately a minister resigns his/her appointment, a replacement would be named and processed through confirmation to guarantee no loss of representation. This is particularly so in a situation where adequate notice is given of the impending vacancy,” the group stated.

“The President needs to move now to reassure the people of Ekiti State whose patience is thinning out, that this Presidency means well for them and has their interest at heart. The representation of every state in the Federal Cabinet should be considered sacrosanct as not to be subjected to the vicissitudes of politics and its exigencies.

We therefore call on the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to name without further delay the minister to represent Ekiti State in the Federal Cabinet.

“We expect no less following this Presidential albeit partisan visit to Ekiti State. This is what Ekiti people deserve. Mr. President, name our Minister now!” the group demanded.
