Fayose: I will make Jonathan President in 2015

Governor-elect of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Friday, in Lagos, declared that President Goodluck Jonathan would win the 2015 presidential election and rule the country for another four years no matter the antics of the opposition.

Fayose made this declaration at a rally held at the Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos State and which had chieftains of the party, including the National Vice-Chairman, Chief Ishola Filani; state chairman, Captain Tunji Shelle; Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, among others, in attendance.

According to him, nothing will stop the president from being re-elected in 2015.

“It was not his making that he (Jonathan) became president and it will not be his making again but God, when he’s re-elected president again in 2015.

“Nothing will stop Jonathan from being re-elected as president come 2015. He was elected as president in 2011 not by his own making, it was destined. We have God, we have the people, we have the strategy, we did it before and we would do it again no matter what anybody does to frustrate his chances,” he said.

Fayose, while acknowledging the hand of God in his recent victory during the governorship election in Ekiti State, said, “We have just started, we will take over the South-West from the APC. Did the PDP rig election in Ekiti State when we defeated Adeniyi Adebayo the then incumbent governor? I told Fayemi I defeated his god-father and I would defeat him who is the god-son.”

speaking further, Fashola noted that it was a privilege for any party to govern Lagos, but cautioned that a party so opportune must not undermine Lagosians in whatever manner.

According to him, feelers reaching him indicate that there is suffering in the land, saying that Lagosians, including market women and artisans were complaining of hardship.

Fayose, who re-stated that he was not contesting power with anybody, however said he was prapared to join hands with party leadership and mobilise support to ensure that the PDP formed the next government in Lagos.

While calling on the party leadership to shun imposition of candidate for coming election, however, counseled governorship aspirants that were only interested in becoming commissioners to quit the race now and leave the race for more serious ones who were ready to garner more strong support for the PDP.

He also enjoin the aspirants to be prepared to support whoever among finally emerges the standard bearer of the party in the state, in order for PDP to win the 2015 governorship election.

Minister of State for Defence, Senator Obanikoro, in his address, also declared that the PDP waspoised to win back South-West from APC, just as he insisted that he never brought the Military to Ondo or Ekiti to harass or intimidate voters, but to ensure one man, one vote.

“The PDP won the bye-election in Ondo. The following day, they said I brought the Military. I didn’t. We ensured one man,one vote.

“In Ekiti also, we ensured that every means of rigging was blocked. PDP won election in all the 16 local governments in the state. You know that APC is not a sensitive government. They increased school fees on the eve of election.

“We won in Ekiti hands down; the next place is Osun. It is the craddle of Yoruba. Let us serve a notice now, Aregbosola should start packing his bags and baggages.

“There is nowhere in South-West where their is no religious tolerance. Aregbesola does not stand for progress, Aregbesola stands for extremism,” he said.

The minister maintained that a wind of change was currently blowing across South-West in favour of the PDP by God’s will, declaring that Lagos could not be an exception to witness such change of government.

“We were in Osun and we were well received. A wind of change is currently blowing across South-West, Lagos can’t be an exception. Whoever God is with is in majority. It is God’s word that is coming to pass. This is our time whether they like it or not,” he said.

“We have something they didn’t have, we are the party of Yoruba, we are the party of Ibo, we are the party of South-South and we are the party of North,” Obanikoro added.

I said it severally before and I will say it again here. Looks to me like Ekiti Governor-Elect is allowing his imagination to run away with him if it is true that he saying all this "I WILL DO THIS, I WILL DO THAT" nonsense! He, like the APC Government is beginning to take the votes given to him by Ekiti people for granted. He is allowing himself to be over-confident and cocky about his popularity and the "COMMON MAN" slogan. We in Ekiti are no fools, and we can judge people by their actions and/or inactions. Pele pele o Ayo Fayose!
